U&I has announced that MetaSynth-wizard Cory has programmed several utilities that most MetaSynth 4 owners will want to check out. MSMidiPix ($10; downloadable demo) takes a MIDI input source and converts the data into a picture. The picture can be saved and then imported into MetaSynth and edited further.

MSBeatBox ($20; downloadable demo) is a beatbox-style programmer that you can use to program rhythms and grooves, which can be exported to MetaSynth's Image Synth as pictures. The utility includes several MetaSynth drum instruments.
