The new MV-8800 from Roland is a combination sampler, synth, and multitrack recorder.

The unit includes a 24-channel digital mixer, an effects processor, and a complete suite of mastering tools. At the heart of the MV-8800 is real-time bpm matching that allows you to mix and match loops of differing tempos and create new tempo-synched compositions on the fly. The unit also features CD burning and the option to use a mouse and VGA monitor.

The unit ships with a library of pre-installed samples that includes 50 new drum kits; a collection of vintage sounds from the Roland TR-808 and TR-909; and pianos, strings, horns, and synths. The onboard effects also draw from Roland's legacy products, including digital emulation of classic effects such as Roland SRV reverbs, SDD-320 Chorus, 325 Flanger, Boss BF-2 and HF-2 pedals, and the RE-201 Space Echo.
