Keith Hillebrandt Remix Contest launches at ACIDPlanet.com. ACIDplanet remix contests incorporate a free 10-track ACID XPress software along with loops cut directly from the master tracks of the featured song. All entries must be fully uploaded by 12:00 a.m. PST on Monday, July 25, 2005.

ACIDplanet provides nearly 40 loops from the original track, downloadable in packs of around 10 MB each. Download as many of the loops as you need to create your remix.

First, download the sample remix and starter loops - eight loops arranged in a simple remix, with an .acd file that constructs the arrangement. The .acd file is an Acid project file that loads and arranges the loops in the program's interface. If you're new to remixing or to Acid software, this will show you how it works.

Then, in addition to the starter loops and any additional loop packs, bring in your own elements - add loops from your own collection, record yourself on guitar, etc. - whatever you choose. Edit and rearrange everything into your own version of the original track.

When you're finished, return to the contest page and click the Upload My Entry button. Upload your track, and you've entered the contest. For more information visit Acidplanet.com.
