Music Nation has launched the beta version of its Web site where entries are now being accepted for its multigenre online video music competition. Rock, pop, and urban genre contestants can upload videos to compete for a global recording contract with Epic Records. Entry is free from now through January 15, 2007, but after that, entry is $25.
Voting will begin on January 15, and the competition will run for 15 weeks. Each week, two videos—one chosen by the public and one chosen by a panel of celebrity judges—from each of the three genres will be voted into the quarter finals. Voting will reset weekly during the initial 12 weeks of competition, giving previously entered bands or artists a fresh chance to be voted into the quarter finals, and allowing new bands or artists to enter each week. Clear Channel Radio will also promote the competition and contestants locally across the USA.
After 12 weeks, the quarter finalist pool will be narrowed to a semifinalist round, and again for the finals in week 15. Three winners, one in each genre, will be awarded global recording contracts with Epic Records and one of those winners will be featured on Stripped, Clear Channel Radio’s exclusive in-studio performance series.
Visit www.MusicNation.com to upload videos and create an artist page (to enter, you must be at least 14 years old and have parental consent). Once your video is uploaded, you can take your submission and post the video on Web sites such as MySpace and YouTube to drive more fans and followers to vote. The public can also register with the site to browse, form or join groups, and comment on videos.
