Frontier Design Group has announced AlphaTrack (Mac/Win), a compact USB DAW controller that includes a 100 mm motorized fader which provides 10-bit resolution; three encoders; a touch-sensitive jog and shuttle strip; and a backpanel with a footswitch jack for punch-in recording. AlphaTrack connects to your computer with a USB cable.

The controller also has a set of 22 buttons and 21 LEDs, including standard transport controls, solo, mute, and automation indication, and encoder mode control. When supported by a computer application, a set of buttons can also be customized with user-programmable functions.

AlphaTrack works with applications such as Pro Tools, Sonar, Reason, Cubase SX/SL, and Nuendo, and support for more applications will be added regularly. AlphaTrack will be available in January, 2007.
