Now available from Edirol is a firmware update (v. 1.10) for the R-09 WAV/MP3 recorder, which adds support for the new SD High Capacity (SDHC) standard for memory cards.
Prior to this update, the R-09 was limited to a maximum SD card capacity of 2 GB using standard SD memory cards. Now, the R-09 is fully compatible with standard SD cards as well as SDHC memory cards that offer sizes over the 2 GB limit and increased data transfer speeds. The Panasonic RP-SDR04-GJ1K 4 GB media, for example, is fully compatible with the R-09. Please visit the SD Card Association online for more information on the new SDHC v. 2 specifications.
Other significant R-09 enhancements include superior data transfer speeds across USB 2.0 connections, a longer power switch cut-off time, cycling of the alphanumeric characters when naming files or folders, and an improved internal time-stamping feature.
For customers updating from v. 1.02, the features that were added to v. 1.03 (updated support for a wider range of SD memory cards and stability in high-temperature environments) are included in the v. 1.10 update.

Edirol R-09 here.
