Blue Sky has announced the Universal Sub 8 subwoofer, designed to complement a wide range of satellite speakers from any manufacturer. Featuring a high-excursion, cast-aluminum-frame 8-inch driver, and a vented motor structure for low power compression, the Universal Sub 8 has a dedicated 100W discrete, symmetrical bipolar amplifier for low-distortion and true RMS power, according to the manufacturer.

The Universal Sub 8 has a frequency response of 35 Hz to 200 Hz, weighs 48.5 lbs, and is 16-inches (W) x 13-inches (H) x 15.76-inches (D). The subwoofer also features MDF construction and comes with four isolation feet.

The Universal Sub 8 has a built-in stereo bass management system with dual independently tunable state-variable highpass and lowpass filters (50 Hz to 160 Hz) with 4th-order slopes. The system lets you adjust the crossover to get the best system response with your satellite monitors. Rear-panel functions include a Subwoofer Gain control and a voltage selector switch (115V or 230V).The unit has analog balanced XLR input and output connectors, and you can chain multiple subwoofers together as needed.
