Moog Music has announced a limited-edition run of the Taurus Bass Pedal bass synthesizer. According to the manufacturer, this new edition of the classic instrument reproduces the Taurus I sound engine and adds modern features to it.

The Taurus Bass Pedals features a 100 percent analog sound engine based on the original Taurus I circuits, "Taurus I" style (one and half octaves on the floor), 2 VCOs, an ADS Contour Generator, 1 VCF Filter, Output VCA, 48 total programmable bass sounds, MIDI Sync, Tap Tempo, and much more.

Only 1,000 of these new Taurus pedals will be built. The first 250 customers to order will receive a $300 discount from the price of $1,995 (a $500 deposit is required). This offer ends on February 15, 2009. The company expects to begin shipping the Taurus Bass Pedal in the fourth quarter of 2009.
