M-Audio has announced the ProKeys Sono 61 (449.95) and ProKeys Sono 88 ($549.95) portable digital pianos. Each piano has onboard sounds, semiweighted keys, and a built-in audio interface with mixer.
Both models have sounds sampled from a Steinway grand piano. ProKeys Sono 61 features four instant-access sounds (bright piano, electric piano, organ, and clav), and the ProKeys Sono 88 has those four, plus strings and choir. In addition, the digital pianos offer reverb, chorus, GM sound sets (128 sounds), drums, and percussion.
The audio interface has two inputs, two outputs, and dual front-mounted headphone jacks. Furthermore, the ProKeys Sono 61 and ProKeys Sono 88 are compatible with most applications, such Ableton Live Lite software (included with the pianos). Both models are expected to ship in the second quarter of 2008. For more information, please visit www.m-audio.com.
