M-Audio is shipping the KeyStudio 49i (Mac/Win; $299.95) music production system.
Overall, the KeyStudio 49i is a USB keyboard controller with an onboard piano, General MIDI soundbank, and an audio/MIDI recording interface that is compatible with most DAWs. The piano—which features the sound of a Steinway grand plus reverb—can be played as a standalone instrument without a computer or software, just like a standard keyboard.
The KeyStudio 49i connects to a computer via USB and plays 128 sounds with the included M-Audio GM Module software. The music production system also features Ableton Live Lite software, compatibility with Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4, an audio interface with two inputs and two outputs, headphone jacks, a mini-mixer, and a Piano Reset button that restores settings to the original internal piano sound.
