RNDigital has released SPL-IZER, an adjustable 3-band, 24 dB per octave FIR (Finite Impulse Response) frequency splitter plug-in. SPL-IZER allows the three bands to be isolated and routed to aux or instrument tracks for separate processing.

The use of FIR filters ensures that no phase shifting occurs at the frequency split points. With this tool, for example, one can use a single-band compressor and make it a 3-band compressor.

Other features include a low to mid split point from 80 Hz to 1,475 Hz; a mid to high split point from 80 Hz to 16 kHz; various level meters; and a direct output that can be switched between mute, sum, low band, mid band, and high band.
