Digidesign is now shipping its Structure ($499) sampler workstation, the latest RTAS virtual instrument plug-in developed by the Advanced Instrument Research (A.I.R.) group.
Structure features a 128-level, multitimbral universal sound engine; and an integrated multi-effects processing engine, including convolution reverb and support for an unlimited number of nestable patches.
In addition, Structure has 20 GB worth of factory sound libraries from A.I.R. and EastWest, such as Quantum Leap Orchestral Elements; it also comes with a 30-day trial of EastWest’s Goliath–Structure Edition. Structure provides support for SampleCell, EXS24, and Kontakt 1 and 2 sample libraries.
Since Structure is optimized for Pro Tools, you may drag and drop Pro Tools regions and control the sampler with a control surface or MIDI controller. Its built-in Sample Editor provides waveform editing and sample mapping.
For a limited time, Digidesign is offering owners of the older Soft SampleCell workstation an opportunity to purchase Structure at a special upgrade price of $199. For more information about Structure, visit www.digidesign.com .
