IK Multimedia is shipping StompIO ($1,049), a guitar and bass effects system that includes a USB floor controller, audio interface, and modeling software. StompIO is operates like a traditional hardware floor processor, except that it allows you to control Powered by AmpliTube software and plug-ins without being connected to a computer. For that reason, StompIO is ideal for live performance and recording.

The unit can manage 4,000 presets with 5 different play modes, and it provides full editing control, meaning that you can create, save, and manage presets with the floor controller. In addition, StompIO offers ten onboard metal switches, six dynamic knobs with two large displays, up to six additional expression pedals or switches for monster rig control, balanced and unbalanced outputs, and MIDI I/O.

StompIO ships with five software packages: AmpliTube 2, Ampeg SVX, AmpliTube Jimi Hendrix, AmpliTube Metal (only for registered AmpliTube 2 users), and AmpliTube X-Gear. To learn more, visit www.stompio.com.
